ABREAbout ABRE

The ABRE consists of scientists and engineers who examine audio and video recorded evidence in order to determine authenticity, identify the voices or images of individuals in the recordings, and indicate the evidentiary value to this recorded material. The members of ABRE may be called upon to utilize their expertise in both civil and criminal proceedings, and in the course of their work they may assist government agencies, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and plaintiff and defendant lawyers on the civil side.

Achieving Diplomate Status

Requirements

  • Attendance at the New York Institute for Forensic Audio for two authenticity classes—choose between Forensic Audio, Forensic Video, and Voice Identification
